It was a whirlwind 2025 with my first adult novel in over ten years being published in a co-ordinated worldwide release. Slashed Beauties is based on real-life anatomical wax models called Anatomical Venuses which were produced in the late 1700s for males to study anatomy upon.

Slashed Beauties is a tale told in two timelines – in 1769 London we meet Eleanor, Emily and Elizabeth, whose lives become magically (and murderously) intertwined when they meet an anatomist and a witch with a wicked plan. And in present day London we have young antiques dealer Alys, who must find a way to break her cursed connection to the trio.

Slashed Beauties is published by VERVE Books in the UK, Berkley/Penguin in the USA, HQ/HarperCollins in Australia/NZ as well as in other territories and also in audio.

In September 2026 a second book, All Her Beautiful Deaths, will be published, which delves into the fascinating world of Victorian death photography and modern installation art. All Her Beautiful Deaths shifts between 1865 and present day London and is about Hadley, a young installation artist who is bequeathed a mysterious album of exquisite Victorian death photographs of young women. However, when she goes to use these photographs in an art installation, the handsome head of a philanthropic trust turns up on her doorstep and he will seemingly stop at nothing to prevent her from finding out how the women in the album died.

What’s next? Well, I’ve already begun another historical fantasy manuscript. I’ve also just finished writing the most magical cosy fantasy Middle Grade manuscript set in 1663 London, which I hope to have out on submission very soon...
